and we are back from asean (:
it was really really fun! ahahha and i got my wish, i roomed with small. we ate alot of snacks and had lots of fun in the room doing stupid things. talking about asean makes me go all high and everything so i shall update in detail!
day 1, thursday
we had to reach the airport at 5.45am. whoever was late had punishment of 1000 fly i think. ahahah but almost everyone was punctual. checked our luggage in and got on the plane at 7.30am. hmm we took garuda airlines. the plane was kinda small and squeezy but never mind. i sat with amanda lee on the ride there (: she took alot of pics but i didnt know cos i slept! and they served breakfast but i missed it. arrgh there were sausages ok.
then we reached! and small and i took tzen's ipod to listen to. i am in love with the WONDERWALL song by oasis. it's super nice! we were arguing over which songs to play. small doesn't like 'let me love you'. how sad, it's a nicey song. so whenever i would play it she would take out the earplug just to let me listen =/
stayed at hilton. the security there was quite good lah. i was so happy when i found out i was rooming with small :):):) we found two complimentary glass bottles of water in the room so i put them in the fridge. 5 mins later, small opened the fridge so suddenly that one bottle dropped out and shattered on the floor. i got such a shock! wore my slippers and grabbed a towel to wipe the floor while small was screaming like some idiot. only after a while then she bent down to help me. uhhh ok, i think im better at handling emergencies. what do you say small? ;)
trg was ok. kat saw me and she shouted, "HELLO LITTLE BOY!" hmph. the pool was like kinda dirty. you couldn't see anything as it was full of cholrine and we came out smelling weird. but the toilets were worse. small, dark, dinky etc. never mind, we survived! :D
oh yes, small and i like kraft stringy cheese alot. we ate all 4 packets on the first day. ahahaha and watched quite alot of tv. there was some olympic pursuit thing on tv. quite interesting (:
day 2, friday
i think i can really sleep through a stampede or something. we set 3 alarms in the room yet i didnt budge an inch when they all rang. some more there was a wake up call! my mom thinks im nuts. thank god for small who picked up the phone (: she was like nudging me off the bed while i pretended to sleep. this went on every single morning. hhahahaa. i was making weird noises and made her go change first.
we were kinda late for breakfast, which happened to be a bad thing on that particular day cos we didnt know exactly where the club was eating. so we were walking around the lagoon area like fools with zach and nigel, who were also late. finally one of the hotel staff saw us wandering around and led us to the breakfast area. we were like, the latest. embarrassing can X( ate ham, egg and bread. small ate i dunno what.
took the bus to the pool. the complex was quite big lah. we thought we would at least have a staircase to climb up to the bleachers. but no. there were these wooden planks which we had to go up and step over to get to the seating area. i was like, "WHAT ARE THESE?" when i first saw them. it was really scary ): i refused to step over at first cos the planks were all wobbly and i felt sick on them. aikwen's dad had to drag me over. ughh annoying staircase thingy.
poor small had to swim 100 back. actually she didnt know her name was in the programme, neither did i. when we were in spore they didnt even tell her she was in for that event! andrew ong was like, "hey amanda, you should go report for your event already. it's starting soon." small was really shocked. she replied, "but i have no events today!" then he pointed out her name and she was so frantic and all. luckily i brought the arena spiral costume so she could wear it. but i think it stretched :( BAHH. im gonna use that one for this whole year though. next year i'll get a new one then.
there was some screw up with the finishes. firstly, we couldnt even see the electronic time board. the numbers and words were so faint so they had to use hand timing. uncle siong filmed the boys group 2 50m fly race, in which we all saw nigel touch first. but the timekeepers claimed that ronald was first so someone from our club had to protest and everything until they changed the results. at least nigel got the gold he deserved. third gold medal for our club i think, or was it fourth? it was good anyhow :):):)
ahahaha my 50 fly sucks, dont talk about it. it's stagnated since i was in p6! and now im sec 2, mind you. bahhh but at least my 100 fly improved alot last year until now (: GOSH. and the pain in my leg during NAG came back! i was really pissed at first, but then i thought never mind. at least this meet isn't that important and the pple back in spore, mainly ss pple, won't know my timings :D
lunch was fun! we ate at some place serving seafood. come to think of it, most of the places we ate at were seafood restaurants. there was chicken and veggie and fried fish! i like it :):):):):) yeps i ate the most fish at our table. the younger boys were so scared of sitting with the younger girls lah? hhahaha. sasha's dcube rocks. it's something like ipod lah. small and i love HOLLABACK GIRL (: especially the part that goes this shit is bananas! it's soo funny ok. we were like, chanting it in our hotel room.
back to the pool and my 100 free was like crap =/ blahhh. jiaolian looks quite disappointed that my leg had an injury. hahaha how sad. she said she thought i'd do quite well. hmm so when i checked the results i found out that if i had done my PB i would have got 2nd! omg i was so sad ): but never mind, maybe next year. must think positively! :DDDDD
dinner that night was funny. kunhan wanted to see my wallet and he took out all the neos, money and my school stuff. then yapper saw my activity card so he snatched it and kept asking what it was for. sherwin the kpo little boy laughed like crazy at the pic of me on the cover. ok i know that pic isn't exactly flattering but sheesh. charles was like, "wow serene! you look damn nerd leh!" and all of them were sniggering. fine lah. nerd then nerd =P
day 3, saturday
hahah breakfast was the same food as usual. small and i were eating frutips in the room before going down. i didnt have any events in the morning so i just sat down happily on khoonnie's mat while she and small snapped random pics. there's one of my snot of her purple pillow. i made her take that one (:
bleah i fell sick that morning. had flu and sore throat. i sounded like a guy, seriously =/ horrible! had to take medicine and all. khoonnie was so funny. she knew i was sniffling really badly yet she took a swipe at me with her pillow. it hit my nose and my snot came out on it! she screamed, "YUCK SERENE!" ahahahah but it's her own fault. too bad elmo (: she and i were interrogating small on the monkey and beaver to find our her preferences. i wish she chose beaver, it'd make my job so much easier but well. disclaimer: names have been changed to protect privacy.
lunch was delivered to out hotel rooms. well, not really. small went down to collect the packet lunch cos i was too obssessed with watching some fina championships on tv, trying to see if michael phelps was there(: when she came up she was like, "ok there should be two packets of rice, fruits, and the main course." but when we opened up the boxes there were FOUR rice, ONE main course and ONE fruits. small was pissed! she made me go down with her to change the food and all. it came so late ok. we came back to the hotel at 11am and lunch came only at 12 noon! one hour later. so rushed =/
back at the pool, our medley relay was great! we were 1st! : DDDDD tao li gave us such a huge lead for her backstroke leg. whee she rocks. err yes i must say she's really good. she kinda slacked for 100 fly but got 1st and did 1.06! haahha.
had dinner at some shopping centre. there was a car exhibit going on and some of the cars displayed looked very cool! chinese food this time. small and i had to sit with the younger boys. yapper and charles and aikwen were being so retarded but it was funny :D
dance prac today was quite alright. we learnt all the moves. yup but i was still sniffling and all. at one point, andrew ong was like, "serene, are you all right? why do you keep rolling your eyes?" and i was like I DONT! and rolled my eyes. i thought, "OOPS." everyone was grinning. tao li was so funny. it's like cos she didn't really understand what allister was saying so she kept asking what we were doing. then her actions were quite funny. no offence to her (:
day 4, sunday
the wake up call rang. small and i were so shacked from the activities the day before that neither of us woke up. disaster. we missed breakfast cos we were packing our stuff and we forgot our water and mats. instead we took gummies and some energy bars while rushing down the lift. not nice :(
50 free today! i think i was 6th. hahaha thats good for an injured and sick person (: but it wasn't a pb. obviously not lah. i dont care. elmo was 1st for her 100 breastroke! hahaha yay elmo rocks and i love elmo :D
free relay! we were 1st again. sorry gen if i kept saying i couldn't swim. hahaha. im quite happy ssc didnt send in a team cos they MIGHT have beat us. dont be angry ok. but im glad we won! hahahaha yay. 2 golds from this year's asean. nicey :):):)
we had to practice the dance for like 1.5 hours before getting ready for the dinner. small and i had a nice warm bubble bath where we crapped alot(: i was in the back row and i didnt notice this metal rubbish bin right beside me so when the girls exchanged rows with the guys i crashed right into it! luckily joel was still learning it if not i would probably have pushed him over. eeks. the bin almost fell and there was this CLANG sound. it hit the wall. i muttered, "GRR!" very audibly and everyone was like HAHAHAHA. i think we had to stop and redo the whole thing all over again. blah. sorry ):
the dinner was soo fun! hahahaha elmo was whining when i didnt wanna sit with her. there was this indonesian guy who kept taking pics of ruth lusiaga :D but he was so obvious ok. he just went up and the camera went SNAP. he did it like how many times? i also dont know. but it was very very funny. our dance was ok. sasa's dance was quite nice! ace did stacy's mom. desmond, ronald and joel were real hilarious. especially when they took the towel off joel =P
food was ok. i only ate pasta and keropok. ahhaha small took lots of pics. gonna ask her to send them to me. she took a pic of this guy with spiky hair. and i tried to make her take a pic with fraser but he thought i was nuts and ran away. hmph.
that night we slept at 1am! small fell asleep before i did and i tried to take a pic of her dozing off =P
day 5, monday
we went down for breakfast at 10am! ahhahah there were hash browns, i think. quite ok. shopping was at some notverynice shopping centre. but it was fun!
we had to go in groups of 5 so it was me, small, sasha, kunhan and yapper. we spent like ONE GOOD HOUR at the stupid dvd shop. i bought the bourne supremacy and spongebob movie dvd's! hahah yay i love spongebob(: and i like matt damon!(: small went totally nuts. guess how many dvd's she bought? 17. good gosh. we ate lunch at A&W. the chicken's nice. after that we just walked around. the IMMORAL thingo was super funny :D
at 4pm we had to board the bus to the airport. something really funny happened. zhi heng saw this guy selling a lorris so he was using hand signals so get the guy's attention. he started bargaining from a really low price and suddenly went so high! the guy thought he was serious and like after 10 mins, he opened the bus driver's window, stuck the lorris in a paper bag and tried to give it to the driver! i was damn scared cos small and i were right in front. yapper was laughing like mad.
yapper: -laughing- haha the monkey will get both of you first!
small: err, serene? do you think zhi heng will really buy the lorris?
me: i hope not. HE BETTER BE KIDDING. if the lorris comes in and starts jumping around i think i'll start screaming.
ahhaha ok that was lame but the lorris was really quite scary! played truth and dare with small yapper zhiheng and sherwin, who kept giving super sick dares =/ we all crapped for 2 hours on the ride to the airport. was fun :)
at the airport we bought dunkin donuts! there were so many flavours. i bought 2 triple chocolate and 1 choc jelly, i think. but unfortunately i had a blocked nose and couldn't really taste ): so sad. but it was nice. 1 of the triple choc was for my mom. im nice :) just kidding.
and so that was asean '05. next year it'll be held in singapore. i enjoyed this year's one very much! best i ever had. rocked rocked rocked :D will remember it for a long time.

hello, im back. went to the chiropractor today. haha it was so ticklish and i kept laughing but it feels good now.
went to raffles city with mom and dad, they wanted to check out some restaurant for some company dinner? it looked ok. hahah oh and i had my har gau (:
i saw this really cute sheep in a gift shop. it's as big as the pooh bear i got for my birthday! it's nose is HUGE and squishy and it's soo cute and lalala i want it :D
will you get it for me, please? i'll treat you to takopachi and new zealand natural milkshake. two of my favourite foods :)
rs workshop tomorrow in school at 8am. i better not forget to go =/
hmm, 2 more years to go with that thing and i'll be done with it. sure, it was fun while it lasted but by then it'll be time to move on. maybe i'll join choir :) err, dont laugh cos im serious.
hoho i watched lemony snicket's a series of unfortunate events yesterday. it was pretty good but the storyline was lame, especially the play. the baby playing with the snake was funny though (: hahaha. now all i have left is to catch the spongebob movie! ZHEEL! you wanna go?

hello. NAG is over, im relieved. my performances were far from satisfying, hardly dismal. they were just disastrous =/ i guess i shouldn't have run 1500m on sports fest heats day. my leg muscles were throbbing but i just kept running faster and faster, and in the end i pulled the muscle. my legs were like, totally ineffective during the whole comp. and i used to be fast cos i relied on my legs! they were super power (: well, i think i did really badly, didnt qualify for any stuff but never mind, i'll just learn my lesson so next year i'll be fast again and get in for other comps. JUST DON'T GO RUNNING, YES? ;)
ahahah well i took 9 events. too much, i think. but kat took 10. hmm didnt do any pb :( hate my leg, it sucks. can't kick at all and i just have to pull for the whole damn race. but ohwells.

hello! swim carn was really fun. got 4 medals. and waddle won the inter-house relay :D
NAG is tomorrow. im abit nervous. hope i can do well and my leg doesn't ache. i dont feel too good.
today at afternoon trg we did 25m sprints. i did free and fly. free did 13. not good X(
fly was worse. i did like 14?! jjl wasn't happy at all. she was shaking her head at the stopwatch when she told me my timing >_<
of course im not as fast as pple like andrew ong who can do 12 for fly. but still OH NO.
ahhh, i hope melanie's theory applies to me as well. she says if you aren't fast the day before the comp, on the comp day itself you will be really fast. hahha THANKS MELON. encouraging ;)
and some pple backed up her theory when i asked them. i hope im fast tomorrow. -frowns

ahahha that's a super nice song by 'bowling for soup'! the opening tune is really catchy and i was singing it in school once.
ok i shall blog a day-by-day type format thing, starting from tuesday.
tuesday
i did the rs observation assignment! (: and some of my group members were quite blur about it. so i sent my copy to them to come up with their own ones but TABBI was sooo silly. she didnt even change the font that i used so it looked exactly like mine. luckily the teacher didnt call us up to present our findings. and sal praised me! she said "smarty pants hiew!" ahahaha (: and we were doing something really lame. my group kept clapping for each other when we were supposed to discuss. but we already knew what everyone had written so just play lah. dont care. and we don't have to pass up our copies cos we did them. yay!
then i went for sports fest heats at rjc. the campus is super new and nice! 1500m was crappe. shall never run it again. i didnt win. missed by SOOO LITTLE. i was a damn 4th position! until 200m near the end i was still 2nd after xin er. but nooo, those two basketballers had to overtake me cos some stupid girl was shouting crap. anyway i have decided not too be sad about it anymore cos im not a tracker. i run once a year ok (: since i have been doing well for swim carn so far, i shall not have any complaints about the run, though i was really pissified at first.
oh and JOE? pls stop smirking at me. i know you have a very nice face and all, but yeah. smiling at me before the run. it's oh-so-encouraging. and after you beat me, smirking and saying, "well doneee" in your sarcastic drawl. well thank you so much. i accept the fact that i lost and now you have every right to be proud of yourself since you lost last year and bounced back this year. but just stop smirking, it makes me sick =/
ohwells after the running and warm down i took a bus to junction 8 with chewmin and francesca. i got off first cos they were taking 156 all the way home so i went to buy takopachi to make myself feel better :D
then took an mrt down to newton and nice dad sent me home :) he is nice 95% of the time. haha.
wednesday
ahahha school was fun. i ate nuggets for the 1st time in err, 1 month? mizar aka ayam's crush hasn't marked our history papers yet. hmph i hope i do well. i got 73% for the mock test. thats quite good, isn't it? well, hope i get as high for this test :))
i like the yongtaufu noodles from kookee. really really nice! and they have many different varieties of tofu. must try it next time :D
anyway i have decided to continue piano. since many pple think im good and i think i actually had enough potential to get 75/100 but unfortunately i didn't. well but since pple believe in me, i shall go on (: just like my swimming at school nats last year. i trained so super hard but screwed up anyway. but still my nice friends believed in me and told me i was still very fast i persevered! :) and im having fun.
saw the programme for NAG already. omg omg i should have listened to jjl and put faster times for the 400 and 800 free! 4.45 and 9.50 respectively. ohcrapppe i really should have heeded what she said. but i put sloww times and now im stuck in sucky lanes for those 2 events. but never mind i shall do my best and if i get a good position in the end thats what matters. got good lanes for 50 100 200 free, 50 100 fly and 200im (: i dont really care about 50 back. i took it for fun. ahahha but i've improved and i hope i can do 35 or 34, since i can beat kangaroo by alot now. no offence (:
but still, when i saw the lineup for 400 and 800 free i was like, "OH MY CRAP! asdfghjklioporiaghair! roar!"

today
ahahha ok i found out that for the badminton grading, i had proficient for overhead clear and high serve. but only adequate for net shots! never mind. ahahah whenever we play doubles i serve you know wht? cos sometimes sal and see can't return the shuttlecock and me and kat earn more points then we win! HAHAHA YAY!
and bio was fun! we dissected a sheep's heart! but the heart had this horrid pungent smell coming from it. sal and i were disgusted =/ we stuck out fingers through the aeorta and they came out through the pulmonay vein [i think] ! it was super fun. i cut off some of the fats.
lunch was fun again! pork chop noodles! :)) and we might get a new lit teacher. some pple saw my nature of science research paper and said it was very pro. hope tay thinks so too! :D

happy bday rgs, happy birthday to meee! :D
i went to school so early today. reached at 7! thats early for me. our class and 208 didnt sing the national anthem and the school song cos we were stuck in ks chee theatre when the vip was entering the foyer. the guard of honour looked cool. germ will have to do it next year!
our class stood above the amphitheatre. too bad we couldn't sit down. but a teacher told see, ck and me to move to a small space where there was this sqaure in which we could stick our heads through and watch. the 101 dance item was, UHM, ok :/ at least they're brave enough to dance in front of the whole school.
hahah when the strings pple came out in their red clogs i was laughing like crazy. the piece was some 'plink plank plunk' thing. they looked quite good doing it, but the first part was like they were in some military band. i couldn't spot jojo and lijia cos apparently lijia cut her hair. haha it's already so short!
anyway there was a students' band. COOL EH ;) they played 'this love'! ck and i tried to sing along but we couldn't cos we didn't know all the words. see was trying to run away from OUR SINGING but we kept pulling her back so she couldn't escape! muahahaha. i was so high i did not recognise the fire burning in her eyes, the chaos that controlled her mind. she said goodbye and got on a plane, never to return again, always in my heart. OOH! this love has taken its toll on me, she said goodbye too many times before (:
and after that was a band formed by the teachers! mr halsall and dr slatter were playing guitars and yapper was on the keyboards! there were 4 other teachers too. oh mrs anis was singing (: really really funky! mr halsall was so super cool for the first song. hahah the whole school stood up and was jumping along! then they played SHE WILL BE LOVED! ck and i screamed when we heard the opening bars. see was like, "oh no. OH MY GOD hiew pls don't sing!"
her wishes were NOT granted cos ck and i sang really loudly and at the same time we were squishing see :D we knew all the words to the song so yup, when we were singing i saw some pple looking at us in amusement. but hey, it's all in the name of fun. i dont mind spending every day out on your corner in the pouring rain! (:
then some teachers rolled out the birthday cake for the school, which is 112 years older than me. haha. see was so funny! when the school sang "happy birthday to rgs!" she shouted "happy birthday to hiewwwww!" aww, see is sweet ;)
haha at the end of the ceremony we went back to class. i was gonna walk back but jill and kat carried me to the stairs instead while the class sang happy birthday to me. hahaha i was really touched. first time my friends carried me before! they always say im too heavy ):
in class jill hid my birthday present. i found it in the cupboard. it was this HUGE winnie the pooh bear! seriously, it's huge. like, from my feet up to my knees. and it's really fat and squishy! i love it! thanks kat, jill, urine, carmen, ayam, amelia and suvee! :D

ahh my birthday is TOMORROW (: haha thanks tiddy for the white teddy bear! it looks like it's going to a christmas party. whee school was fun today. it's fun almost everyday.
we had pe in the morning. luckily sal, see and i didn't run extra 2 rounds again. haha badminton was fun. sometimes i miss the shuttlecock cos im scared i'll hit see's head and she'll cry :D
hmm, history test today! it was harder than the mock test. cos we could bring that one home. anyway i was almost finishing question c when mizar told us to stop. hmph and qianwen and ayam now have something to spar about! ayam likes the history teacher. HAHA yesterday she was so eager to help him distribute worksheets. the whole class was trying not to laugh but i did and it was quite loud. ohwell (:
ANNOUNCEMENT! yan yee and qianwen are getting 'married' next tuesday! cos it's 8th of march and i told them that 8 was supposedly a lucky number. im gonna sign the official document as a witness. founder's day tomorrow!

i know this is a late birthday shoutout. 2 days late, in fact. haha im so sorry. anyway since we started the sesame street gang thingo we've become much better friends. maybe cos you were elmo and i was zoe so we were siblings? (: anyway im really glad i met you. thank you for being so nice to me and for encouraging me to do well in my swimming. thank you for putting up with me lame jokes and for not daoing me at any time. whatever people say about you, just dismiss it as childish talk cos you're a really great person inside.
and youre a real fun matchmaking partner! remember kangaroo and -------? ;) too bad someone isn't going asean after all. but never mind! we shall come up with a backup plan! hahah it'll be fun with you around after all :D

we could get right
why do so many people say my cousin looks murderous? he's cute wht. and he's only 3 years old, what would he know about murder?
anyway geog lesson was fun today (: koh wasn't there so she sent us to the library to do research on rivers. it was groupwork. so germ lynette suzy chewmin me were in group 4, doing research on indus river i think. walked around the library and couldn't find much so germ and i subconsciously went into the food section and we found a book all about PASTA! :D
hahaha we were so super excited after that and were flipping through the pages and laughing but at least we remembered to keep our voices down. then silly SEE suddenly blurted very loudly, "HOW TO MAKE PASTA!" and we were like, "shh! keep quiet."
our group was discussing when germ found a recipe for macaroni souffle! ohman the picture looked so damn good i wanted to tear out that page and eat it. hahaha we were like drooling over it. so now the 5 of us may go to someone's house to have a pasta party! and we shall make lots of pasta and im sure SUZY will be in hysterics when she sees the vegetarian pasta again, right? (:
my cousin brought back krispy kreme doughnuts for me from australia! WOW she rocks! :D
