we all have heard the saying that pride leads to a fall. i have experienced this many times for myself. unfortunately some people don't seem to have experienced this. well, it's a very valuable life lesson.
and you're going to learn it soon.
(how can you talk about others that way so explicitly?!)

the concept of loss is something too profound for me. we win some, we lose some. at the end of the day, what matters most is what was important to us.
so hard to let go. nothing can capture a heart like a memory can.
do we really dance the dance of life alone?

most importantly, thank you Lord (: SYF was an amazing experience. i say with all honesty that april was the happiest time in my rjc life and the memories are precious to me. warmup on wed morning was bad and i got quite discouraged but we managed to get our act together at the right time. the 10 mins outside the tuning room was the longest 10 mins ever! our stage performance was pretty good. not great, not bad. amazing that we could camwhore before results were released.
results this year were in stark contrast to that in 2007. people were surprised, shocked even. but with international judges, standards are definitely raised. im glad we got the gold with honours, i think it also had to do with some luck so really thank God. feel for some of the other schools though. but truthfully if it didn't happen this year, it would have happened some time in the future.
dinner at fish and co after (: thanks guys for making it a great day. thanks ms ku for your help whenever i asked (: thanks SL's for the effort. thanks j2's for being a great bunch. thanks j1's for being wacky, wonderful juniors!
whether or not the school thinks chamber is CO or band, or a hybrid of both, it doesn't matter to me anymore. it used to bother me that people think we are so slack yet we can get honours. not anymore. so what if we are considered slack? maybe the hours we put in for official practices are slack compared to the others, but we also put in a substantial amount of time and effort outside official pracs. what matters is that we know we did something good, and we have a collective shared memory of this day.
moving on...
this week was undeniably great. sleepover/baking last friday, deb's bday last sat, night prac this mon, slacking on tues, SYF on wed, CATS on thurs, marina barrage on fri.
sleepover was fun. margaret learnt how to play golf instead of coming up with a dance :/ i am absolutely clumsy in the kitchen but huiyan, peikhee and kristie are pretty good! brownies were tasty, shld make from scratch next time.
CATS was great! esp the set design!!!
barrage was fun (: the place is beautiful! pics are on facebook. batch chalet after A levels!
